FabLab Eindhoven

Location
We are located in Parsberg, Germany, close to Nuremberg.
History and Background
Additive Manufacturing and Rapid Prototyping technologies have improved tremendously over the past years and are used increasingly for machine tools and series production. Our team has more than 15 years of experience with these technologies and founded netfabb GmbH in 2009.
Together with our mother company, FIT GmbH, we have access to a huge machine park of laser sintering, electron beam melting and 3D printing technologies in both metal and plastic.
Impact
netfabb’s Selective Space Structures and the tree story have been huge attractions at trade fairs. They demonstrate our potential for innovations and our ability to get the very best out of Additive Manufacturing technologies. We started using structures to improve part attributes in 2004. Since then, this has been adopted by many companies in the industry and has played a major role in the continuing rise of Additive Manufacturing.
Our software suite netfabb Studio Professional, combined with Professional tools, netfabb Engines and netfabb Cloud solutions, has enabled a wider and easier access to Additive Manufacturing software than ever before and provides companies with a common software platform with tailored software packages at every seat.

Ultimaker
The Ultimaker is a new 3D-printer that can print objects out of thermoplastics like ABS and PLA.
Assembling the unit – though requiring some dedication and love – does not require special skills.
The 3D printing process
The Ultimaker has a square frame, with a horizontally moveable printhead and a vertically movable build table, an XYZ movement also known as a ‘Cartesian bot’.
The heated printhead (the Extruder) will deposit a layer of molten plastic on the build table. Then the build table lowers a fraction of a milimeter along the Z-axis and the printhead will deposit a new layer that fuses with the previous one. The table lowers again for the next layer and so on.
The PLA and ABS comes in many different colors.
Objects of roughly 21 x 21 x 22 centimeters can be printed in the Ultimaker.
VDM kunststoftechniek
